Top Thanksgiving Getaways: Best Places to Travel from Chicago This Holiday Season With a Rental Van
- Rental Vehicles
Thanksgiving is made for gathering — and for a group, a road trip out of Chicago is a great way to do it. A rented van keeps everyone together with room for the luggage (and the leftovers). Here are the best places to point the van over the holiday.
For an easy trip, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and St. Louis are all within a comfortable drive and packed with history, food, and things to do — perfect for a long weekend.
If your group loves the outdoors, head to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin, or Minnesota for scenic drives and cozy cabin getaways — a restful, festive escape.
Up for more miles? The Smoky Mountains in Tennessee offer stunning scenery, and the New York/New Jersey area brings big-city holiday energy — both doable with the whole group in one van.
One van keeps the family together for the drive, with space for everyone and their bags. Set your own route, stop where you like, and skip the airport hassle at the busiest travel time of the year.
Because we’re Illinois-based, you can drive our vans anywhere across the USA and into Canada — no special license needed for personal use, and two additional drivers free (three drivers in total).
For a comfortable holiday drive, the 15-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter; for value, the 15-passenger Ford Transit. Browse the full fleet.
Reserve online at any hour. Our reservation team is available by phone 7 days a week, 8 AM to 5 PM.
