All of our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans come equipped with a 32" smart TV, Xbox One S, DVD and Blu-Ray player, plus USB and USB-C charging outlets and a 110-volt power outlet. In Chicago, van rentals start at $50/day for a 7-passenger minivan, around $140/day for a 12- or 15-passenger van, and $180/day for a luxury Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Every rental includes 250 free miles per day, and your final price depends on your rental dates, length, and any add-ons.

Our Chicago van rentals start at $50/day for a 7-passenger minivan and go up to $180/day for a luxury Sprinter, with 250 free miles included per day. Across the US, van rental prices generally depend on vehicle size, location, and rental length.

Yes — drivers must generally be 25 or older. That said, we make exceptions: corporate, government, military and organizational rentals, as well as drivers 21 or older who hold a CDL or professional license, can rent with an underage driver fee. Under 25 and not in one of those categories? Email us your situation and we'll review it case by case.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (no prepaid cards), plus cash, Chase QuickPay, Zelle, Cash App, wire transfers, and corporate or church checks. Wire transfers and checks need 5 days advance notice. A $200 deposit secures your reservation, and the credit card holder's identity must match the ID presented at pickup.

The major distinction is in seating capacity. A 12-passenger van can seat up to 12 people, whereas a 15-passenger van can seat up to 15 people. The option you choose is determined on the size of your group and your comfort preferences.

We at Chicago Van Rentals strive to answer your inquiries and guarantee that your van rental experience exceeds your expectations. Our services include rent passenger van chicago, van rental in chicago, and rent a van in chicago, and we provide superior transportation solutions that are suited to your specific requirements.

At Chicago Van Rentals, the standard minimum age is 25 or above for all drivers. We waive this requirement for corporate, government, military and organizational rentals, and for drivers holding a CDL or professional license — in those cases, drivers 21 and older can rent with an underage driver fee. If your driver is under 25 and doesn't fall into one of these categories, email us with your situation and we'll review the request individually — approval is case by case.

A valid driver's license, proof of insurance transferable to the rental vehicle, and a credit card matching your ID. International visitors need an international driver's license (or an English translation) plus a passport.

A $200 deposit secures your reservation. At pickup we place an authorization hold of $400 on credit cards ($500 or more on debit cards), and the rental balance is due at pickup.

Yes — our vans can be driven anywhere in the USA and Canada, as long as you comply with local regulations. One-way rentals and delivery are also available.

Yes, pets are welcome! Just return the van in the same clean condition — pet hair or residue incurs a $450 cleaning fee.

Sprinters are our comfort flagship: diesel engines (22–24 MPG), high roofs you can stand up in, reclining captain's chairs and onboard entertainment. Ford Transits are the budget-friendly option with recliner bench seating and tinted windows — the same reliability at a friendlier price.

A little over 3 feet of cargo space behind the rear seats — the same trunk room you'd expect in a regular minivan, in every minivan we rent.

Yes. Chicago Van Rentals accepts international driver's licenses, and foreign licenses from countries whose licenses Illinois and the US recognize. If your license is not in English, you'll need an English translation — or a valid international driving permit — along with your valid home-country license and your passport.

Yes. If you're an international driver visiting the US, you'll need to purchase additional insurance coverage through Chicago Van Rentals to rent one of our vans — unless you can provide proof of your own insurance that is valid and acceptable in the United States and covers the rental vehicle. Ask us when booking and we'll set up the right coverage for your trip.

Close to 4 feet of dedicated cargo space in the back, separated from the cabin by a partition wall — your luggage stays secure and out of sight.

Close to 3.8 feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The 15-passenger Golden Chariot gives you 3.8 feet behind a partition wall — enough luggage room for a family of five to six on a 10-to-15-day vacation trip.

The 12-passenger Ford Transit has about 3.8 feet of cargo space inside the van. The 15-passenger Transit has no cargo space with all 15 seats in use — but if your group is 13 or fewer, we can remove two seats to open up about 2 feet of cargo room. Just ask when you book.

Yes — US and Canadian renters must provide proof of primary liability insurance from a major carrier that transfers to the rental vehicle. Don't have transferable coverage? We offer insurance options you can purchase at booking, and international drivers can buy the required coverage through us.

Our optional CDW carries a $2,500 deductible per claim and covers the van up to its full replacement value. It does not cover interior damage, windows, roof, undercarriage, theft, or damage from negligent operation — so drive responsibly and inspect the van at pickup.

Yes. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) adds up to $300,000 of coverage, and Personal Accident/Personal Effects coverage (PAI/PEC) covers accidental death, medical and ambulance expenses, and personal belongings. Ask about both when you book.

Up to three additional drivers are included free with every rental. Beyond that, each extra driver is $20 per day, and every driver must meet the same license and insurance requirements as the primary renter.

You get a one-hour grace period after your scheduled return time. Beyond that, an additional rental day is charged — which also includes a fresh 250 free miles.

Tolls, parking tickets, red-light camera and speeding violations are billed to you along with a $50 administration fee per violation. Tip: bring your own I-PASS transponder to handle tolls directly and avoid the fee.

Yes — one-way rentals and drop-offs are available anywhere in the USA and Canada. Pricing is quoted per trip because it covers returning the vehicle (driver time, fuel, tolls and travel costs). Call (773) 800-9898 for a quote.

Yes, for an additional fee. Our Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are equipped with a Class III hitch rated for 4,000 lbs, and Ford Transits for 3,600 lbs. You provide the trailer, and towing is undertaken at your own risk.

Don't worry — our customer service is available 24/7, even after hours. Call us right away at (773) 800-9898 and we'll do everything we can to get you out of the situation and back on the road. We cover mechanical repairs that aren't the result of misuse or collision (repairs over $99 need our approval first), we'll arrange tow service and a spare tire if needed, and for after-hours breakdowns we provide vouchers for up to two hotel rooms while we sort things out.

Don't change it yourself — call us and we'll arrange a tow service and a spare tire replacement for you. This keeps you safe and protects the vehicle warranty.

Early returns don't receive a refund for the unused portion of the rental — the full reserved period is payable. If your plans might change, talk to us before booking and we'll help you pick the right dates.

Call our office at (773) 800-9898 before your return time. Your extension is confirmed once the balance for the updated dates is paid — extensions are subject to vehicle availability.

No — smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in all vehicles. If the van is returned smelling of smoke, cleanup fees start at $500.

Yes — Chicago Van Rentals accepts all major debit cards and credit cards at every location, including O'Hare and Midway airport pickups. Debit cards carry a higher authorization hold at pickup ($500 or more, versus $400 on credit cards), and the card holder's name must match the driver's ID. We do not accept prepaid cards. We also accept cash, corporate and church checks, wire transfers, Zelle, Chase QuickPay and Cash App — checks and wire transfers need 5 days advance notice. This applies to every van in our fleet, from the 7-passenger minivan to 15-passenger Sprinters.

Yes — we accept tax exemption for organizations that are registered as tax-exempt with the State of Illinois. To apply it, you must present your exemption letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue (showing your organization's tax-exempt status) before pickup. Once the rental agreement is signed at pickup, we are unable to remove the tax afterward — so please send or bring the document ahead of time.

Book your van as usual, then send us your organization's tax-exemption letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue before your pickup date — we'll apply the exemption to your rental agreement. Churches, schools, and nonprofits are some of our most frequent renters, and our 12 and 15-passenger vans are ideal for group trips. Remember: the letter must arrive before pickup — tax cannot be removed after the agreement is signed.

Just one document beyond the standard rental requirements: your organization's exemption letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue showing current tax-exempt status with the State of Illinois. Provide it before pickup, along with a valid driver's license, transferable insurance, and a credit card matching your ID.

No — a federal 501(c)(3) letter alone is not sufficient. Illinois sales-tax exemption is granted separately by the state, so we need your Illinois Department of Revenue exemption letter showing your organization is tax-exempt with the State of Illinois. Send it to us before pickup and we'll apply the exemption to your rental.

Yes — family trips are what we do most. Choose a 7-passenger minivan for smaller families or a 12 or 15-passenger Sprinter for the whole crew, with 250 free miles per day, up to three additional drivers free, and onboard entertainment (32" smart TV, Xbox One S, DVD) in every Sprinter. Drive anywhere in the USA and Canada.

Absolutely. Our luxury conversion vans and Sprinters handle wedding parties, quinceañeras, corporate events and VIP outings across Chicagoland. Reserve early for weekend dates — event weekends book up fast, and our no-overbooking guarantee means your van will be there.

Yes — we serve businesses across Chicagoland with flexible daily and weekly rates, and corporate renters qualify for our under-25 driver exception (with an underage driver fee). Delivery to your office or job site is available on request. Call (773) 800-9898 to set up a corporate rental.

Yes — production companies use our vans for crew shuttles, talent transport and equipment runs. With 12 vehicle types from minivans to high-roof 15-passenger Sprinters (up to 6 feet of cargo space), flexible weekly rates, and delivery to your set or studio on request, we can support shoots of any size.

All the time — schools, churches and faith-based groups are among our most frequent renters. Yes — teams and camps are a specialty. A 15-passenger van carries the full roster, the 12-passenger Sprinter keeps cargo space for equipment, and up to three drivers are included free so coaches and counselors can share the driving. 250 free miles per day covers most tournament travel.

Yes — we serve federal, state and local government agencies. Government rentals qualify for our under-25 driver exception (with an underage driver fee), and eligible agencies can apply Illinois tax exemption by providing their Illinois Department of Revenue letter before pickup.

Yes — bands love our high-roof Sprinters: room for the whole group, up to 6 feet of cargo space for instruments and gear, power outlets for charging, and 250 free miles per day for the road. Need more space? Our Sprinters have a Class III hitch rated for 4,000 lbs so you can tow your own trailer (additional fee applies).

No — Chicago Van Rentals is a self-drive rental company, so all of our vans are rented without a driver. If you're looking for a chauffeured ride instead, we can help: our limousine service is provided through our trusted affiliates. Visit our contact page with your trip details — or call (773) 800-9898 — and we'll connect you.

Yes — you can return your van 24/7, 365 days a year, even when our offices are closed. Every Chicago Van Rentals location has a 24/7 key drop box: park the van at the lot, drop the keys in the box, and you're done. Your return time is recorded from the moment you drop the keys — the van itself is checked in on the next business day. If we're unable to open that day (weather or staffing), your return still counts from your key-drop time, and we simply complete the check-in on the day we reopen. As always, return by your agreed time — a one-hour grace period applies, after which an additional rental day is charged.

When we check the van in on the next business day, we inspect it and report any damage we find to you. You remain responsible for the vehicle until it is checked in — so if new damage is discovered at check-in, it is your responsibility unless you can prove with clear images or video that you returned the van undamaged (taken at the moment you dropped off the keys, with the date and time visible). We recommend taking clear photos or a quick walk-around video at every drop-off — it protects you and makes any damage review simple and fair.

Yes — we allow a limited number of customers to park their personal vehicle at our location for a small fee. Spots are limited, so please contact our office at (773) 800-9898 a few days before your pickup and we'll reserve a parking spot for you. Please note: we no longer offer free customer parking at our locations.

Yes — our vans can be driven anywhere in the USA and Canada. Take it to any Canadian province: Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary — or a classic road trip like Chicago to Niagara Falls. Every rental includes 250 free miles per day (extra miles just $0.35 each), and up to three additional drivers ride free, so cross-border trips are easy to share.

No — our rental vans are not permitted to enter Mexico. You're welcome to drive anywhere in the USA and Canada, but travel into Mexico is not allowed under any circumstances.

Yes — we'll remove up to two seats free of charge, which opens up extra cargo room (that's how our 15-passenger Ford Transit gains about 2 feet of cargo space for groups of 13 or fewer). Need more than two seats removed from our Ford Transit vans? That's available for an additional fee, which covers both removal and reinstallation. Just request it when you book so your van is ready at pickup.

Yes — we keep a few dedicated Sprinter vans for music bands and gear-heavy trips. They feature a fully enclosed rear cargo compartment with a solid partition, so nobody can see your equipment from outside — about 180 cubic feet of hidden, secure cargo space. These vans are very limited in number, so call us at (773) 800-9898 or email info@chicagovanrentals.com and ask for a Sprinter with extra cargo space for band equipment — we'll reserve one for your dates.

Yes — Chicago Van Rentals rents Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans equipped with a 32" smart TV, Xbox One S, DVD and Blu-Ray player and power outlets, serving all of Chicagoland. Pick up at either of our two local locations — Melrose Park or Berwyn — or get 24/7 terminal pickup at O'Hare and Midway airports if you're flying in.

Yes — hockey teams traveling to Chicago for tournaments rent from us all the time. Along with our 12 and 15-passenger vans, we keep a few dedicated Sprinter vans with about 180 cubic feet of enclosed, secure cargo space behind a solid partition — plenty of room for goalie bags, sticks, helmets, and the whole team’s gear, hidden from view and locked away between games. These cargo-partition vans are very limited in number, so call us at (773) 800-9898 or email info@chicagovanrentals.com and ask for a Sprinter with extra cargo space for hockey equipment — we’ll reserve one for your tournament dates.
